Looking back on 2011 and looking forward to 2012

Studywiz 9.5.2

Firstly, I’d like to announce that as 2011 comes to a close our development team have just finalised the release of Studywiz 9.5.2 and we’ll start the process of rolling this out to customers early in the new year.

This version includes some of the most exciting developments we have done in recent releases – things we think will help schools make a big difference to the way they assess and support pupils, the way they enable collaboration, and the way they communicate the great work they do to their school community.

Our unique Learner Matrix tool has already got people tweeting and if you don’t already know about this new module then please take the time to have a look at our web page.

9.5.2 also includes one the most frequently requested features we’ve had which is Google Apps for Education integration. Now you can combine the educational management tools of Studywiz with the authoring and collaboration tools of Google Docs. I think you’ll really love how this all works together.

The last feature in this new release that I want to mention is the inclusion of our School App for iOS. We now have a number of schools that are making use of the school app to improve communication with the wider school community, and market themselves through the increasingly popular Apple App Store. The App Store currently includes free-to-download school apps for Bryanston School (UK), Mark Oliphant College (Australia), and Mooroolbark College (Australia). Please download the apps and you can look at this web page for more details.

There are many more feature improvements in 9.5.2 and we’ll be posting up a more detailed list of what to expect on the blog soon.

The Studywiz Community Grows

This year we’ve been joined by many new schools across the world. In particular, in my own part of the world, I’m really pleased to welcome new schools in South Australia, Queensland and Victoria, including Melbourne High School, Gus Nossal, Roma Mitchell School and Redlands College.

Other highlights of 2011…

If all of the above wasn’t keeping everybody busy then this year has also seen the release of our eLocker 2 app for iOS, the continuation and success of our iPad Learning Project, and two great user conferences that took place in Australia and Europe.

2012 will be even better

We already have so much planned for 2012 so early in the first part of the year look out for a fantastic update to our eLocker app as well as the first version of the Assignment activity app, which has been developed in conjunction with our iPad project schools.

Our team are also working on an major overhaul of the Studywiz home page and we’ve got a few other innovative new products in the pipeline which we’re developing in conjunction with customers. You’ll be hearing more about these as the year progresses.

Of course, a key activity for the Studywiz team will getting out to meet our customers and hearing about all the fantastic things that you are doing – it’s what makes it worthwhile for everybody involved.

I’ll just finish by saying that everybody at Studywiz wishes you a very happy and peaceful holiday season, and we’re really looking forward to working with you again in 2012!
