Eportfolios and Academic Review

Well Friday was the big day. All staff in the main hall, wireless laptops switched on and lots of power leads at the ready. Studywiz Eportfolio launched and one by one the children with parents come in for academic interview.

Staff nervous and not sure what to do with new technology started to browse their tutor groups leading plans and typing targets and comments into their learning plans. It all went very smoothly and parents were impressed they could get this info at home. Impressed with staff using technology.

Before everything was done on paper and unless you were a parent, a tutor or the child you never knew what the targets were. Now every teacher of a student, as well as parents and the child can see what the targets are. It also means that as the years go on they will have a history of targets set and targets achieved to see how their learning has progressed.

Only one teacher used paper with sheets of carbon paper to get copies Must keep on smiling!

The plans are printed in some cases and reduced to A5 to stick into planners - very easy.
